Pioneering Carbon Neutrality in Disc Golf Events

We are proud to announce that we are aiming to become the first carbon-neutral disc golf event in the world. To achieve that goal, we are using the help of KWOTA. This innovative token is a collaboration between KWOTA and the European Disc Golf Festival 2024, aimed at compensating the carbon footprint generated throughout the duration of the disc golf festival.

Every year, the world churns out an astounding 100 billion tonnes of new goods, with only a mere 7.2% being repurposed for future use.

The bulk of these goods end up in landfills, rivers, and oceans, contributing significantly to environmental degradation. In many cases, first-world nations export their waste to other regions, merely shifting the problem elsewhere. However, this is not a sustainable solution. Material production alone accounts for 51% of global emissions, highlighting the urgent need for proactive measures

So, why opt for KWOTA tokens?

The brilliance lies in their ability to not only reduce waste but also mitigate carbon emissions. For instance, reusing 1 kg of plastic in production can prevent approximately 1 kg of CO2 emissions, offering an immediate impact. By incentivizing producers like our esteemed partners, DägoPlast, Rappin, and EstikoPlastar, to incorporate more recyclable materials into their processes, KWOTA facilitates tangible reductions in CO2 emissions.

KWOTA serves as a platform that connects material producers, such as those mentioned above, with events like the European Disc Golf Festival 2024, enabling them to raise funds to bolster recycling efforts and promote environmental sustainability. With a dedicated decarbonization team overseeing the entire value chain, KWOTA ensures adherence to stringent procedures and standards.
